Philipp & Ilse

When I first spoke to Ilsa and Philipp, I knew from the get-go that their wedding was going to be spectacular.  Despite having to change their venue at the last minute, Ilse and Philipp managed to pull off an epic wedding at Brympton House.  The day was full of emotion, fun, and laughter, all brought together by a huge amount of effort from the couple, their friends and their family.  Ilse and Philipp filled their wedding with so many personal touches and made the absolute most out of their day.  Thier efforts most definitely paid off!  I also learnt that the Dutch clearly know how to party, although I couldn’t understand the speeches, the atmosphere was alive as was the dance floor!  What better place to party than the gorgeous Brympton House!

With its stunning location in the heart of rural Somerset and set in 33 acres of luscious grounds and gardens, Brympton House is elegant and a hidden gem; one of the UK’s best country house wedding venues.

Sophisticated, stylish and full of grandeur, Brympton House is a delightful country residence. It is renowned for its fusion of cosmopolitan and contemporary features; the historic house, a party barn, superb accommodation and the fun factor – a venue to stay at for a few days.

What sets Brympton House apart from other wedding venues of this kind is its clever blend of old and new. The original exterior and period features throughout the property have been restored and renovated, ensuring its authenticity remains evident.

The Castle House, which dates back to 1350, is breathtaking and holds a license for civil ceremonies, making it an enchanting spot to say ‘I do’. You are instantly transported back in time from the mahogany pillars and beams, stone walls, arched entrances and antique windows to the wooden seats. Other reception rooms for the wedding include the Ballroom, a beautiful and spacious room that boasts a classical décor with full height sash windows, striking chandeliers and vintage touches, the State Dining Room, an elegant room for an intimate wedding breakfast and the Library Bar, an oak-panelled room with cosy sofas and coffee tables.

Brympton House also boasts some thoroughly modern touches, particularly Stables Bar; the separate party barn which is typically used for the evening do. With its sprung dance floor, modern marble-topped bar, fairy lights and contemporary chill-out room, the barn is a popular addition. There is also a day room with a pool table, a great place for guests to gather to relax ahead of or even the day after the wedding.

Luxury is at the heart of Brympton House and its accommodation offering is exactly what you would expect of such a prestigious property. The honeymoon suite is chic and romantic, styled and dressed with distinctive pieces of furniture. Also available at the property are 15 double bedrooms and four family bedrooms, ensuring family and close friends can stay at Brympton House and be an integral part of the celebrations.
