Brympton House Wedding Photography
As a Somerset wedding photographer, I am lucky enough to work at the very best Somerset wedding venues and this is certainly the case when I return to capture wedding photography at Brympton House.
Grade II listed Brympton House sits in 33 acres of stunning parkland with a magnificent lake and is considered to be one of the most beautiful houses in England. With a rich history, it stands today as a characterful and charming Somerset wedding venue offering exclusive use with everything you could possibly need in one place. Add to that a team of professional, experienced and friendly staff, and your wedding really couldn’t be in safer hands.
Wedding photography at Brympton House always starts in their beautiful Honeymoon Suite, which doubles up as the perfect bridal preparation area. Large and spacious with elegant interiors it’s plenty big enough to accommodate the bride, her bridal party, a makeup artist and hairstylist and one unobtrusive Somerset wedding photographer, there to capture those all-important bridal prep images.
Before the ceremony, the groom’s party often choose to hang out in the morning room which has lovely period features, comfy chairs and a full-size snooker table. Or the beautiful oak-panelled library bar with its sumptuous interiors and gorgeous 1920s restored bar area it’s the perfect place to welcome guests who have arrived through Brympton House’s awe-inspiring Great Hall.
Brympton House Wedding Ceremony
When it comes to your wedding ceremony, Brympton House offers great flexibility with three wildly different spaces. The medieval Castle House dates back to 1350 and boasts an elegant long aisle leading up to a beautiful arched mullion window. It is very atmospheric with a church-like feel. It can seat up to 200 guests so is ideal for larger weddings. And has double doors leading out onto the South Terrace which is the perfect spot for a drink’s reception.
If you’re thinking of having an outdoor ceremony The Temple is perfect. You say ‘I do’ under the pretty façade of the stunning open-sided Temple, situated on the South Terrace. With beautiful views of the house, gardens and lake, it makes a dreamy setting for a romantic outdoor wedding ceremony.
If you’re looking for a traditional religious wedding ceremony, Brympton House has a church on the estate. The beautiful 13th century St Andrews Church has been described as one of the most stunning churches in the UK. It is lit entirely by candlelight giving wedding ceremonies there a wonderfully intimate feel that is entirely unique to St Andrews.
Time to celebrate and party at Brympton House
For your wedding breakfast, there are three beautiful spaces to choose from catering for weddings from 30 guests through to 228. The largest of these is The Ballroom. Accessed from the staircase hall (which boasts the longest continuous running wooden staircase in England!) The Ballroom dates back to 1640. The room is abundant with grand and ornate period features and has large windows that floods the room with tons of natural light, (Us Somerset wedding photographers just love light spaces!) This beautiful room has neutral décor allowing you to stamp your personality onto it with your decorations. Though the room is beautiful enough on its own with the addition of a few flowers and candles.
Storytelling wedding photography at Brympton House
The Salon is one of the most spectacular rooms in Brympton house and overlooks The Terrace. It can accommodate up to 100 guests for a seated wedding breakfast so is perfect for medium-sized weddings. Elegant wood floors, fine art on the walls and a feature fireplace make this an elegant setting.
The State Dining Room is perfect for more intimate celebrations. Silk-lined in shades of deep red it seats up to 60 guests. Candle chandeliers give atmospheric lighting. Proving that you can still enjoy a grand setting at a smaller wedding. The State Dining Room is also the perfect space for a rehearsal dinner on the night before your wedding.
The finale to your Brympton House wedding!
When it comes to evening receptions, Brympton House has The Party Barn. This barn has been cleverly converted into an evening function suite with all the modern luxury and conveniences you would expect from a premier wedding venue, whilst still retaining the charm and character of a barn venue.
The Party Barn has three adjoining spaces of a fully stocked marble-topped bar, a chillout area and a dancefloor adorned with fairy lights. With direct access to the pretty courtyard, you can also have a sparkler serenade or a full-on fireworks display. And with exclusive use, you can be as loud as you like!
